Disappointed to learn that all Newcastle upon Tyne Labour MPs voted against the very well drafted #terminally ill #assisted death with #dignity bill this afternoon, but pleased (from lived experience) that humanity prevailed, 330 v 275

Humanity and compassion prevail in this one small corner of the world after a historic vote in favour of legislation to allow assisted dying for terminal diagnosis adults. 25 years after Oregon passed their Death With Dignity bill.

I find it discomfiting to witness MPs, theologians, some scholars (e.g. The Conversation today) gain privileged access to media debate when this is about humanity, not ideology. This is why I am sharing the evidence from lived experience, compassion & love. @dignityindying.org.uk #deathwithdignity
