The Gerald Huff Fund for Humanity published a study predicting that 25% of American jobs will be eliminated by A.I. within 3 years:

That is the same number of jobs that were eliminated in the Great Depression that led to the Social Security Act. Now is the time for UBI.

I spent 22 yrs making $4 million/yr in grants to organizations focused on K12 education. For the first half, I tried reform but found it hopeless. It became clear to me that transformation was necessary and that technology could enable it by actually measuring what and how children learn.

Education in America stopped working a few decades ago - see "A Nation at Risk" a report published in 1983:
"If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war."

Also the top 10% consume 50% of our economic capacity, and the top 3% about a third. That level of consumption inequality has completely twisted our economic capacity and prices into meeting their wants at their prices, not our needs at our prices. Just another reason we need universal basic income.

That is abhorrent but it worked because he flaunted political correctness big time and made them feel seen. The Dems have got to develop a new narrative and Buttigieg is the man to deliver it. They have to go where the people are.

I just read an op-ed in the NYT describing how Kirk enticed young men to join his cause by talking to them directly in different venues and giving them a sense of belonging. The author suggests the Dems have to do the same thing. I nominate Pete Buttigieg. He's young and very articulate.
