The fact that we are debating whether it’s ok that Trump calls female reporters “piggy”, “ugly” and “stupid” shows just how far we’ve fallen.
This shouldn’t be up for debate.
These women are doing their job and don’t deserve to be abused and demeaned for it.

Talking about tough tasks… I have to do some legal stuff that will involve exposure to extremely personally traumatising material…
and I haven’t been anywhere near this task, cos I’m terrified, yet.
Maybe I need a support person to do the writing for me? Is that a thing?

🔹Whilst some steps are being taken reiterating the Delivery Plan when the debate was centred on the serious failures of the Delivery Plan is not enough.
🔹Yet @tessamunt.bsky.social stating she would hold the health ministers "feet to the fire" in follow up was encouraging.

🔹It's clear though that the Government still needs to go further to meet the urgent & inhumane treatment of #pwME
🔹We need clear commitment of funds & systemic processes initiated.

Despite Resistance, Policy Makers Push The Paradigm On ME/CFS And Long COVID | Health Affairs Forefront
A new NIH institute or center for post-infectious illness is a promising prospect. However, any such initiative is unlikely to happen quickly.
And reading articles like this one, resets my mental framework from feeling under siege, to having a wider understanding of the landscape. Thank you so much!

Healthcare is a basic human right.
Food is basic human right.
Education, housing, clean air & water are human rights.
Using healthcare and food as leverage should be grounds for removal from office.
SNAP, Medicaid and the ACA are worth fighting for.
People will die without them.

Not only is Tom Hanks protecting his own health, by masking up he’s protecting everyone else on public transit.
Many people taking the subway don’t have paid time off.
They don’t have the good healthcare someone like Hanks can afford.
Masking is community care.

Keep Britain Working Review: Final report
Keep Britain Working is an independent review of the role of employers in tackling health based economic inactivity and promoting healthy and inclusive workplaces.
1️⃣ 🧵 NEW: The government’s Keep Britain Working report claims to tackle the UK’s crisis of ill health & economic inactivity.
But it never mentions Long Covid.
Not once.
Not the pandemic either.
That’s not a small oversight — it’s a fundamental flaw. Let’s unpack why 👇

Book in my hand, with title "PSYCHOLOGY’S QUIET CONSERVATISM: How a Supposedly Woke Science Promotes Capitalism and Protects Privilege" and author name "Brian M. Hughes" (me)
Well, now, look what arrived in the post...
Delighted to share that my new book on psychology and the culture wars has now been published.
Writing it was a long, at times depressing, but ultimately satisfying journey for me. I hope you like it

Jessica Tarlov just detonated the narrative:
“The government has killed 32 people in 7 strikes with no proof they were traffickers. The admiral leading the mission quit. If we had evidence, they’d face a court — not a drone.”

Before you tell a disabled person it’s their family’s responsibility to care for them… remember that not everyone has family.
What’s more, disabled people are far more likely to be trapped in abusive relationships.
Better social supports would help them break free.

To the many people who say “I’ll mask or stay home if I’m sick, but you’re CRAZY if you want me to mask regularly, & btw I haven’t even been sick in years”… yeah you have, & you probably spread it to a bunch of other people, some of whom, statistically speaking, lost their lives as they knew them
