Friend mocked up a furniture layout that might work well with my new space AND suggested I get a small shelf and put it in the hall closet to use as pantry space (coats can go in the office closet, lol)... SO SMART, and I would've never thought to do that myself!

~Apparently~ it's Mt. Baker you can see from the Hood Canal, not Tahoma, whiiich explains why I thought the mountain looked a little funny on the drive in today, lolll

Friend and I drove out to the spit because I wanted photos of the snowpack on the Olympics... we found this massive tangle of bullwhip kelp!

Hahaha they live literally a mile from the evacuation route- but on higher ground so they're fine! (Allegedly) 😅

Shh! My emergency plan ~was~ "go to friend's place!" but then they up and moved to Port Angeles on me! 🤣

A power drill still in its box

Baby's first power drill! With a flashlight, 'cause friend is so insistant I need an emergency kit that consists of more than just a gas mask (that I said I didn't need and tried to donate last week)

...at friend's place for all of ~2 minutes before the Great Dane/Weimaraner jumped up in an attempt to boop my nose with her nose. She missed, and I got her nose in my mouth instead, 🙃

They've been over twice since Monday, and so insistent both times that I let them know if I need anything. They seem quite sweet!

So, turns out, they don't even seem to register it. It's a low hum, very soothing.

Also, it was raining earlier, and I didn't feel the angsty panic I constantly felt with the rain in Bremerton. That was nice!

Quiet but good- my kitchen is fully unpacked and presentable! And I'll get yummy holiday food at my friend's place tomorrow. How was yours?

I think my maternal grandfather used a similar naming convention with cows on his farm.

My only association to Amaryllis is the little girl in The Music Man, and Winthrop's lisp rendering her name as "Amaryllith".

(aaand it looks like I need to keep it away from the Cattos! 😶)
