I had prior automotive exp but have never touched carbon before and almost everyone in my department were the same when they started.

Meanwhile I have spent all my free time for 9 years trying to land a job in games and I havent had an interview since 2017 😭

I started a new job trimming/assembling carbon fibre parts for motorsport+hyper/supercars

And it really put into perspective how fucked the #gamedev industry is.. 😭

I am working on cars in the range of Β£800k-Β£3 million and what requirements did I need to land the role.. Nothing.

I do this with gravy when I cook for people. there is no reason to not use store bought and it costs way more but it just feels worth..πŸ˜…

This thing is a labyrinth of a model... you think the highpoly is done and then you find 4 more pieces to model πŸ˜…

Im calling it quits today cant wait to get it in zbrush and add 100 years of dent and dings!

Made the classic mistake of trying to push through late at night Instead of just trying again in the morning. realised my hubris when I spent like 2 hours squinting at a mesh and I could not for the life of me figure out a pinchπŸ˜…

A friend once explained using Ngons as "try to make the shape you want using the least amount of loops"

This hinge I just did would have taken me ages a 2 years ago as I would try to find a way to quad the corner and still keep the curvature

now I just delete the loops and let SubD work it out 😎

There has been a few times so far with this highpoly where I have to try and work out which way something spins, attaches, etc and it normally ends in my scribbling on a screenshot till it makes sense πŸ˜…

Maybe Ill try rigging/animating for the first time with this? πŸ€”
