I painted the daisies in photoshop but the red flower is actually a oil painted my dad did IRL for a art class his love for art is what inspired me growing up so it seemed nice to add some of his work to mine ❤️

Part 2 of fixing up the speakeasy is this sorry excuse for a screen door as they were really glaringly low detail so I've made a new more period correct mesh to replace it!

A very kind art lead sat down with me at develop conf and gave me a bunch of feedback on my portfolio so now Im taking a week off of my new project to apply their feedback!

Starting with my speakeasy and more specifically so far replacing this horrid bronze ceiling for a lath+plaster one!

3 point Ive just noticed I only paint funny lil helmet blokes but thats halo 2's fault for cementing itself in my brain at age 8 😅

I only paint once a year but I think it proves 2 good points:

1. Skills aren't granted there learned (nothing annoys me more than when peeps say "Ive love to do that but I cant draw...")
2. Art regardless of medium is a compounding skill (shape language, composition, value are transferable skills)

I had an absolute mare with my mental health this morning so I binned off all the things I had to get done and painted a ODST sketch I had while the thunderstorms came and passed (fitting ambience I know 😅)

I walked away thinking that was really dumb as it might come across as my passion for the games has "died" but after sitting on it for a while I dont think its that silly.

Still love playing games but with gamedev I think my joy stems from the problem solving and collaboration aspects not the IP

chatting to a recruiter at a conference recently and they asked "what sort of IP would you really want to work on?" And I didnt have an answer..

A few years ago I would have answered back straight away with halo, gears, dirty bomb etc. but honestly I just wanna work on a team with passionate people

I wanna say an s15 silvia but thats me being biased cause here's my one 😅 but my other suggestions would be a Suzuki MightyBoy, a kanjozuko style EF civic and a Mazda AZ-1 which I think someone has already mentioned!

Im a uk based 3D/environment artist looking for there first role in the games industry!

Ive gone for my PSP with ARK-4 installed in a hope Ape Escape and LocoRoco might make my 2.5 hour train ride to Brighton go a little faster 😅

as an environment art this is a constant fear of mine.
