Abbès Zouache reveals how, several centuries after the Mamluk conquest of Acre in 1291 and the disappearance of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, the memory of the Crusades remained vivid in Arabic historical writing.

This volume presents the critical edition and annotated French translation of the Kitāb al-Iʿlām wa-l-tabyīn fī ḫurūǧ al-Faranǧ al-malāʿīn ʿalā bilād al-muslimīn, written in the early 10th/16th century by the otherwise unknown historian Aḥmad b. ʿAlī al-Ḥarīrī.
