In the last day, at least 8 Cedar Waxwings have died after colliding with windows on the VCU campus 😢.

Our heat and water finally returned last night. While we will continue to conserve and boil water until #RVA city government gives the all
-clear, I am giddy with the luxury of washing my hands under a warm tap.

Very excited to bathe in the James in winter during the #RVA water crisis. The baby sturgeon can exfoliate my toes, and we can make toxic mud masks.

The #Amtrak Route 40 Floridian is now pulling out of DC.

The social contract is not yes broken, but it has frayed enough that the conductor has admonished us over the intercom: “Positive vibes! Positive vibes, people!”

There are at least three low-level crises brewing:

1) A smoke break has been missed by a passenger who needed it.

2) A child is singing “Jingle Bells” on repeat, but so only knows the words “Jingle Bells” and “Hey!”

3) My seat mate says he cannot tell if the cab smells like pee or popcorn.
