HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

Emergency exit for Athlone IPAS centre deliberately welded shut in recent weeks The blocked exit was only removed when an ambulance needed to the centre in recent weeks to bring one woman to hospital.

maybe an attack like Drogheda wouldn't have happened if they'd decided to take the murderous intent of the far right seriously after racists in Athlone welded the emergency exit of an IPAS centre shut, or, I dunno, any of the other hundred such incidents

Q: And are you married?
A: I was married, but I’m not married anymore. Women don't like the vehicle.

I also have advice. Everybody loves reading advice on the computer, so I'll share it: the best thing you can do right now is log off as hard as you can. Go outside, talk to people in real life where it's actually kind of rude to talk about the news, try to actually see the friends you usually just text message. Go for a long drive and turn the phone off while you do it. Get back into your hobbies or pick one and learn it for a while. Watch one of those studio movies that reviews called "wildly miscalculated" and you haven't seen since high school. Play an album you like but find embarrassing. Go to free community events even if they sound stupid. If you take the freeway, try the surface streets. Go to a bad diner and just order some bad coffee because even bad coffee is good coffee.
You can't help anybody when you're exhausted and keep posting one million college-educated rewordings of "I would love to be dead right now" on the computer. Walk away from the thing and try out some of those normal things you hear about and if you get bored that's wonderful because we're not supposed to get bored anymore. It turns out boredom is the Cadillac of feelings.

You'd think it'd be more important than ever to report on the links between British Zionist organisations and Tommy Robinson, just don't expect Hope Not Hate to do that work, because they share staff and funding with BICOM, which really makes their role to regulate rather than oppose racism.

β€˜A million calls an hour’: Israel relying on Microsoft cloud for expansive surveillance of Palestinians Revealed: The Israeli military undertook an ambitious project to store a giant trove of Palestinians’ phone calls on Microsoft’s servers in Europe

Israel is using Microsoft Azure to store recordings of every phone call made by Palestinians in the occupied territories, then using AI to analyze the contents and select targets. Microsoft is (dubiously) claiming ignorance.

Tangential to the β€œgetting evacuated” bit of the weekend but tenements really are better in the heat, aren’t they? Had to stay in a friend’s new build last night and I swear it was at least 5 degrees hotter, what did the Victorians know that we don’t?

If we keep losing members of our community to fires and extremes of greed in landlords, the hostile environment wins.
We cant come together to care for each other in adverse times when we've been displaced by airBnB and luxury condos.

We keep losing neighbours. This is the same Kenmure Street of lockdown fame where we all came out to protect our neighbours from UKBA detention and deportation.

Whatever else is the case, I am afraid I do think it's gutting that Labour, a party of evil transphobic bastards, won a by-election that followed the death of a staunch trans ally. I myself am aware this isn't a salient issue, just personally, what an insult to Christina's memory.
