You would not believe the absolute unhinged nonsense I have to read sometimes, especially on this Twitter and Facebook, especially when it's not a luxury but an economic necessity we need to keep the lights on and the overwhelming majority of the British public support it 📈

Everything from the usual tropes of weather, misleading price comparisons to a much more sinister and toxic tone, reactionary culture wars from aspects of the media and outright lies from bad faith actors at all levels of politics have contributed to this over the last year or so 📰

Really glad we covered this session at @rukcymru.bsky.social's Future Energy Wales, the scale of misinformation about renewable energy and net zero is off the scale and getting worse 🤥

The Primary Energy Fallacy is the idea that all primary energy from fossil fuels must be replaced with equivalent amount of clean energy.

BUT: Not necessary because >2/3 of all primary energy is lost as waste heat.

Electrification+renewables are far more efficient.
