1. Think about the setting. It doesn't always have to be dragons or dungeons. Most GM's won't let you play as a dungeon anyway. 😜

2. Pick an Archetype from that setting. Old West? Gunslinger or Outlaw. Sci-fi? Space Ranger or Merc. Etc.

3. Find something weird/unique about them and get wacky. 😉

Dice Company's Small Embers is five long-time friends talking smack at each other while playing D&D and turning it into an extraordinary adventure series wrapped inside a Narrative Actual Play Podcast of high audio quality.

It should be noted that DCP is 5 lads from the UK but it's high-quality, extremely entertaining, often hilarious, and regularly has guest players (including females). They've set the bar quite high.

Vengeance: Said couple sits on the outer seats and carries on a loud, cringey personal conversation involving medical maladies and procedures as if the barbarians aren't there. 😅

I appreciate your opinion. Fortunately, that is not something I have actually said, only that I am less likely to try it out vs podcasts that have a more diverse cast because that is my preference.

I think people of all walks have different perspectives to offer and their voices should be heard when possible. So in that way, it does matter at least as a preference rather than a rule.

There always a few exceptions but this is unfortunately and inevitably true.
