Yes. Disenfranchise some and make it difficult for the rest of us to travel abroad. I'm sure that onerous hoops to jump through to get a US passport & travel abroad won't be too far down the road for those of us who are only eligible for a US passport.

If I had a 2nd passport or were eligible for one, I absolutely would be choosing that one. I've tried to gently persuade my son to claim the Mexican citizenship that he's entitled to. As luck would have it, I have an official copy of his father's birth certificate, so it shouldn't be all that hard.

I have this teddy bear that I bought in an Oxfam shop in England in 1986 because he’d clearly been so beloved at some point. His head was hanging by a string. I repaired him & made his little vest when I was trying to learn how to knit.

Yes, I suppose it's possible that they're still alive, but it seems more likely that they passed on or had to go into a nursing home or such. Buying a comic book in 1946 would mean they were probably about my father's age & he'd be 89 if he were still alive.
