Lynchburg GLAM gathers this evening (Thursday, October 9) at Campbell County Museum from 5:30 - 7PM. GLAM is a networking group for staff and volunteers at galleries, libraries, archives, and museums.

Park on-street or in a lot next door. Enter via the ground level door to the left of the steps.

Starting October 7, we will switch to winter hours on Tuesdays and will be open from 9AM to 5PM.

We get very helpful, gifts at Jones Memorial Library.

Thanks to Mark for dropping off these pool noodles.

How do we use these in the archives?

Polyethylene foam noodles are mostly chemically inert. We cut them to size and put them in archival boxes to prevent shifting of contents!

We had a great visit by the Nelson County (VA) genealogy group yesterday.

Guests had an intro to the library's history and a special tour of the collection stacks to learn about materials that can help trace roots and ancestral connections.
