Christianity is a community focused religion. The over broad focus on individually in America has bled too deeply into the faith here. It’s allowed people to ignore or misunderstand large parts of a Christian life.

In that case it becomes a question of nonviolence. Serious nonviolence is is creating an active conflict with the unjust while refusing to dehumanize them. By definition it becomes a strategy using creativity and justice rather than violence. I think it’s the best strategy to use as Christians.

Our main duty is ensuring all people are respected and cared for in the way Christ taught. That means treating them as truly human and protecting their dignity and life. When a state attacks people and dehumanizes them then even living out the most basic teachings of Christ will look like revolution
