Ford sees it as a chance to do right by Stanley and give him all the opportunities his brother never had. The portal incident never happened here, so he’s still dealing with the whole interdimensional demon thing. Raising a kid while also protecting them from your toxic ex is NOT easy.

I want to write an AU where Stan ends up passing while still homeless and leaves behind a kid. Somehow Ford is the only family they can get ahold of at the time. When this little kid shows up at his door, he’s shocked that the boy is basically a carbon copy of his brother.
