She can also see the confusion and embarrassment on Yosuke’s face, which tells her that he’s oblivious to what’s going on. His ~

*Emily remains silent, periodically squeezing and rubbing George’s shoulders to try and keep him calm

Her gaze bounces back and forth between Oliver and Yosuke as they interact with her husband, the two of them taking a seat after George instructs them to do so

She knows that he wants ~

*Emily’s giving Oliver a (( very )) pointed look, her eyes conveying everything she wants to say. It’s a warning look, telling him to tread lightly*

Her voice is unwavering. Not a single tremble to be heard. She speaks up, her smile still present as she talks*

*Emily’s stomach lurches once more. She knows that Oliver is trying to get under George’s skin…and he knows how to weaponize his love for her

Despite the bite in his tone, George doesn’t cuss or raise his voice in any way. She gently squeezes his shoulders again, a silent reminder for him to keep his temper in check. She, however, maintains her smile and friendly tone, doing everything in her power to ~

She doesn’t even need to look at her husband to know that his entire demeanour has shifted. He went from terrified to angry within the blink of an eye, serving as yet another reminder of his Italian heritage and the Italian temper he ~

~ are sometimes more than enough, and she gently squeezes George’s hands after he places them on hers

Her skin prickles and her stomach lurches when Oliver’s gaze shifts from George to her, that smug look not faltering for one single second. She maintains her composure when he speaks to ~

*Emily gently places her hands on George’s shoulders, applying just enough pressure to let him know “I’m here, I got you”

It’s something they’ve always done. When one needs grounding, the other is there for support. They know each other so well, they don’t need to use words. Actions and gestures ~

~ feeling like jelly as she makes her way over to where George is sitting. She stands behind him, putting on her best poker face as she speaks*

Hello, Oliver. Long time, no see

~ that boy knows about his dad’s past…how he used to bully other kids and how he got his nose broken when he was a pre-teen. George was always the type of guy who would go to bat for his friends, but, he was always extra protective when it came to her

Slowly, she rises to her feet, her legs ~

~ former high school. That boy is a spitting image of both parents, but, he inherited his eyes from his dad

She sees the look of sheer horror on George’s face, the colour completely drained from it. Poor man looks like he’s either about to faint or throw up, possibly both

~ would ever see his face or hear that nasally voice of his ever again. Last she heard, him and Pearl moved to Vancouver to live with her parents after he had been kicked out by his for bad behaviour. They must have moved back to Halifax fairly recently and chose to enrol their son into their ~

She’s frozen in place. Her eyes widen with horror. Her blood runs cold in her veins. Her mouth agape. All she can do is sit there and stare, the shock and horror clear as day on her face…
