Been doing more editing lately. I used to be a minimalist editor, hesitant to propose changes so as not infringe on the author's voice. One thing I'm learning is that it is a responsibility (and more respectful) to be heavier-handed. Writing is solitary, but more collaborative than I'd realized.

As the parent of a GenZ teen this doesn't surprise me, between mass shooter drills in the US & Iranian attacks here. Still, I think we're doing a disservice to our kids by not inspiring them with confidence that by working together, humans have been able to solve hard problems over our long history.
