If Big Wheels had been around, I think it would have made a better metaphor than a stool, with the big wheel up front being scripture

24.07.2025 21:57 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Very possible. Our company uses them in a number of locations for tertiary connections if our primary and secondary go out. There've been a few odd occasions where we've opened new stores with them bc the commercial networking was delayed. The caveat - it's great... when it's up.

24.07.2025 21:52 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Our Canon to the Ordinary was in attendance. I haven’t gotten an email asking me to contact the Bishop’s office so my sermon must have been heresy-free 😁

19.07.2025 16:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Actually, my only real regret is that the Most Excellent @karanslade.bsky.social is teaching and preaching all over the Diocese during her own sabbatical, but my church work keeps me from seeing it in person.
17.07.2025 18:40 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0This is as thrilled as it gets. Handling the church over the summer with a rector who is on vacation, in addition to my job with the Diocese, and squeezing in my full-time secular job that pays the bills. But no complaining - I get a full three hours of sleep each night. 😂
17.07.2025 18:39 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Maybe the work right now isn’t to have answers, but to stay tender. To refuse to become numb. To let ourselves be moved, even if it’s messy.
17.07.2025 18:31 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0But I think you're right: our faith doesn't give us permission to harden our hearts nor to disengage because the world is unfair. It asks us to love. To pray even when we don’t feel it. It's a strage tension to hold our grief and hope in the same hand.
17.07.2025 18:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Thank you for sharing this so vulnerably. I’ve felt some of that same ache. It's like being torn between the heartbreaking loss of young lives and grappling with the painful truth that not all tragedies are treated equally.

"So in a sense, I guess you could say, that your film is about… Kool-Aid.” 😂
Has comfort become the thing we idolize over a stronger relationship with Christ? Maybe it’s time, like Keble, to preach like it actually matters. Because it does.
14.07.2025 13:54 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Almost 200 years later, we’re facing new apostasies: shallow discipleship, spiritual fatigue, and too many clergy who fear offending people in the pew more than they fear offending God. People today are longing for deeper faith not complacency.
14.07.2025 13:54 — 👍 7 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0This day in 1833, John Keble’s sermon on national apostasy sparked the Oxford Movement shaking a Church that was asleep at the wheel (more in comments) ⚓

09.07.2025 13:13 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0There's a lot of other classes to pack in with only three years. My wish is that there could be some level of scripture that was a part of each term, especially given the is the lynchpin for all other aspects of the faith.
