Here is a sketch of ‘46 and ‘62 that I drew a few days ago.
Neither of them have an actual basis, but their designs are inspired by engines built by the North British Locomotive Company for Egypt and India. I headcanon that the Fat Director ordered them after he was swindled with Henry
Photograph taken outside Tidmouth Sheds. circa 1955, showing North-Western Region No. S4 “Wild Nor’ Wester” idling whilst waiting for the Controller to arrive. Seems the cameraman’s presence took the engine by surprise
Vicarstown MPD, circa 1961. NW Region No. S3 “Flying Kipper” seen coughing up a storm, with soot on his face after taking on some bad coal from the coaling tower.
Q1 No. 33010, affectionally referred to as ‘Neville’ by railway staff. Whilst not a Sodor engine, No. 33010 did work on the railway during the Second World War and was well liked by the engines, at least after the confusion of his appearance was cleared up of course. Unfortunately No. 33010 was cut up in 1964.

* my prior takes of them notwithstanding, i see 98462 and 87546 as believing they're both these incredibly clever, horrid bullies who torment the other engines and ruin their lives whilst said other engines forgot there even were two other blue engines at vicarstown
