The pols, in other words, aren't really taking money from the CAA. They're taking money from all the landlords that first delivered cash to the CAA.
Then you'll see those contributions, such as $9,100 from a corporate landlord called Sequoia Equities.
12.07.2025 00:56 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0You can also click on "Contributions Received," meaning contributions from landlords and other real estate entities to the CAA.
12.07.2025 00:56 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0You can look for campaign contributions made, received, etc. Just click on the circle that comes before the item you want to search.
You can look for different years that campaign contributions were made, etc. Here's an example.
You'll then see this.
12.07.2025 00:56 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Third, type who you want to search. In this case, the California Apartment Association Political Action Committee, which is one of four PACs operated by the CAA.
You'll see these results.

Second, use the Cal-Access Search engine in the upper left-hand corner. (We're doing this on a laptop.)

12.07.2025 00:56 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0We often investigate the California Apartment Association because it's funded by corporate landlords, and the CAA carries out Big Real Estate's agenda.
So we like to examine the CAA's campaign contributions. It's something you can do, too.
We'll go through the steps now.

Stop the red tape! #HousingNow
Price-fixing software used by corporate landlords has fueled the housing affordability crisis.
Politicians must ban it -- and protect tenants against predatory landlords.
ICYMI: Yesterday, we held a "Stop the Red Tape" protest at LA City Hall.
Because of city bureaucracy, the construction of the affordable and homeless housing has often been delayed for years.
We must stop the red tape -- and more urgently build affordable and homeless housing.
RealPage's price-fixing software is used by a cartel of corporate landlords to charge wildly inflated rents.
We urge politicians in California and other states to ban such software. It has fueled the housing affordability crisis.
The California Apartment Association will go anywhere in the state to stop tenant protections.
It's no surprise: the CAA is the front group for many of the largest corporate landlords in the nation.
