Me and @nanoboss.bsky.social for @legalform.bsky.social rm.bsky.social thinking about 'smart sanctions' on Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.
TLDR: these sanctions are smart insofar as they enable imperialist states to 'act' whilst fundamentaly upholding the status quo.
Hello there, is there a recording or related paper? Sounds fascinating! You should also consider writing about your research for @legalform.bsky.social!

Headline: Teachers can use AI to save time on marking, new guidance says.
Absolutely fucking brilliant: students use AI to write their assignments, and then teachers use AI to grade them.
David Graeber wrote an entire book on "bullshit jobs," but I don't think even he could foresee how rapidly we would all run off this cliff together.

Some reading for context here www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
Capitalism is not harmonious, itโs conflictual. Very rarely is there a โcapitalโ or a โcapitalismโ acting in a unified way. Even a system-wider threat has trouble compelling this.
There are many capitals, in constant competition, seeking to maximise their own accumulation and fend off their rivals.
One thing that does deserve more attention, though, is how it came to be that reading and writing for oneself should have become tasks whose alienation and automation appear so desirable to so many. Generative AI did not create the conditions for its own appeal; the world we made was ready for it.
