Snapping turtle hatchling on a piece of wood

The little turtle 🐢 was moved to the shore gently on a piece of firewood, just trying not to stress it out any further.

I know we're not to interfere with nature, but this seemed like an exception. I reached out to a turtle rescue organization in Peterborough, and was happy they responded that this was acceptable as the raccoons were here around the lake because of us.

The nest of this snapping turtle hatchling (2001) had been raided by what I imagine was a hungry racoon. I moved this little one to the shoreline for a better chance of survival.

We got the vaccine a few years ago as it was covered under our insurance. The Mrs had it 6 years ago, it wasn't much fun. Hope you're doing ok

Itching for warmer temps and being able to sit outside. I can't control the weather (yet), so I rigged up a little tarp so I could keep out of the light snow coming down this afternoon in the Durham Region of The Great White North 🇨🇦.

It's odd, and folks should never feel hesitant to block users who do this. Many times these accounts are deleted within a short timeframe... so I'm all for blocking them

Good advice! Most times I get these from someone I've recently followed back. I try to review an account before a follow back, but it's not always obvious.
