Like ever since ZA’s first trailer I was so fixated on whether or not the pokeballs would have their own physical qualities because that was such a major part of what made catching fun but I didn’t see anyone mention it at all and still haven’t

Yeah I really think ZA lacks the special feeling of being a trainer in the game’s world that so many people felt in PLA in no small part because of the catch mechanics and I’m just so surprised more ppl didnt wonder about it pre release

Like yes it is better than YouTube because uhhh yeah it better be, but I’ve gotten way too used to lossless streaming at this point

If Nintendo refuses to put their music on streaming like a normal company then I really wish they’d make the streaming quality higher for the Nintendo Music app because it’s really not great

currently watching the Allison Brie / Dave Franco movie 'Together' and i really think most of Dave's scenes could be improved by a little monologue where he says, "Just to remind everyone, I'm not James Franco. I'm Dave. We're separate people. It's OK to like my work after, you know..."

Gutting all the monster hunter systems has also made the game a lot more similar to the regular games, which sticks out even more than it would already because it feels waaaay harder to catch Pokemon this time even with ultra ball backstrikes and the canari charms

If we want to talk about actual issues with Z-A then I’d like to talk about how they regressed the “FPS” mechanics with strict distance limit and lack of unique ball physics

Not being able to throw your Pokemon out also MASSIVELY detracts from the experience and I really miss it from arceus

The very valid “most profitable media franchise in the world” criticism can and should be pointed out, but it’s far more damning for an absolutely insulting catastrophe like SV as opposed to Z-A which is a very solid time even if it leaves a lot to be desired

When they’re talking about it being ugly or unimpressive. Like Pokemon is probably never going to wow us like we want which is genuinely frustrating but the art style here is really quite good and I’ve been confused about the hate from the first trailer. Do we really not remember what SV look like?

Do I wish these games were better in all the ways people go on about? Of course I do. Pokemon is a genuinely special series for me and it’s burned me many times, but Z-A is technically so much tighter than scarlet and violet ever were in such an obvious way that it’s hard to take people seriously

I think the last several generations have been clear examples of GF overreaching in what is actually possible and the games GREATLY suffer for that, but in 2025 you simply have to know what you’re signing up for with Pokemon and as far as that goes Z-A absolutely comes together as a very solid game

There’s a lot of things you could take issue with Z-A, but as someone who thinks fans really went easy on SV, I strongly believe that the hate for Z-A is massively overblown.

It clear to anyone who is actually into Pokemon that the games are shooting for a very specific scope now for better/worse

- no indication of which quests are main story quests or side quests
- sometimes the same quest appears multiple times
- sometimes it's just one immediate quest with huge font
