Look, I know that OKC is the #1 defense in the NBA. That would be more comforting if this weren't a nightly problem.

Yes, the Kings defense is terrible. I understand Doug Christie's commitment to fixing it. But you can't fix a weakness before you establish a strength.

The Kings have no strengths.

113 points is the fewest the Kings have allowed since October 28th. It's their 3rd lowest point total allowed in 15 games this season.

And the Kings still lost by 14 because their offense only managed 99 points.

OKC just took an 11-point lead. So that's now 11 straight games the Kings have fallen behind by double-digits.

Did you know, the Sacramento Kings offense hasn't built a double digit lead in 2 weeks?

In their last 6 games (not including tonight), their largest lead was 7 points.

Meanwhile, their opponents have built a 13 point lead or higher in their last 10 games.

The Sacramento Kings are 3-11. 8 games under .500.

At their lowest point in their 3 seasons with De'Aaron Fox & Mike Brown, including the 5 game losing streak that got Brown fired, the Kings were 5 games under .500

They are exceptionally worse off, and only 14 games in.

Their success heavily depends on the right pieces around them too. But in terms of a two-man game, I think they both can be elite together.

Not a lot of things that I am super confident in with this Kings team to start the season, but one guy has really stood out to me over the last few weeks: Zach LaVine.

His scoring is elite. And I have not seen more of an effort to embrace Doug Christie's defensive expectations than from Zach.
