Within the region, it is located the 4th Italian Lake by extension, the Trasimeno Lake. It suffers from strong seasonal fluctuations and an overall progressive reduction of its level. We asked ourselves how the lake could evolve by the end of the century under CMIP6 climate #projections (โ๏ธ right).

Are extreme rainfall events intensifying in Italy? ๐ง
In doi.org/10.1016/j.ej... we show that:
- short-duration ordinary extremes increase all over Italy;
- longer duration ordinary extremes exhibit negative trends in some areas;
- the most intense extremes vary more than the ordinary ones.
