She is gazing directly at the camera with a calm, intelligent, and composed expression. Tipper has short, neatly styled dark hair parted on the side with soft waves framing her face. She wears a patterned blouse or dress with a high collar, evoking early-to-mid-20th-century professional women's attire. The soft lighting highlights her determined features against a plain, neutral background, capturing her as a trailblazing scientist whose work on brittle fracture revolutionized materials engineering and saved lives during and after World War II.
Metallurgist Constance Tipper was born #OTD in 1894.
Her groundbreaking work on the brittle fracture of metals saved countless lives during #WWII & laid foundational principles for modern fracture mechanics. First female FT faculty member at Cambridge Dept of Engineering (1949). #WomenInSTEM (1/2)

Wings Of Winter!
Eastern Bluebird.
The eastern bluebird is a small North American migratory thrush found in open woodlands, farmlands, and orchards.
The bright-blue breeding plumage of the male, easily observed on a wire or open perch, makes this species a favorite of birders.

She is shown in a close-up head-and-shoulders view against a dark, neutral background, gazing directly at the camera with a composed, intelligent expression. Clarke has distinctive curly hair neatly styled, and she wears thin, round pince-nez glasses perched on her nose with a thin bridge and side arms. She is dressed in a formal dark blouse or jacket. The classic early-to-mid-20th-century studio portrait style conveys her trailblazing role in electrical engineering and power systems innovation. #EdithClarke #WomenInEngineering #ElectricalEngineering #ClarkeCalculator #InventorsHallOfFame #MIT #MITAlum #PowerSystems
Edith Clarke, the first female electrical engineer in the US, invented a calculator (the Clarke calculator) to solve electric power transmission problems, a precursor to modern smart grid technology. It was patented in 1925. #WomenInSTEM

Horizon: Call of the Mountain is a stunning looking game with so many moments where I stop just to look around and marvel at the scenery.
Well done Firesprite!

Machines are so much bigger than you think once you see them up close. A grazer, for example is taller than a moose, and the way it carries itself along with the sounds of its footsteps makes you feel how massive and heavy they are.

I wish PSVR2 screenshots could convey the scale of things. This is the eye-camera of a watcher.
