There are a lot of errors in this misleading article. For instance… reducing the size of the stomach is only one way in which bariatric surgery works - it also increases GLP-1, PYY, and other gut hormones, reduces Ghrelin, increases blood bile acids, alters the microbiome among other benefits

This study found that for people with obesity, diet + exercise is not very effective for losing weight. We need a paradigm shift in how to treat this disease. GLP-1 drugs like semaglutide and bariatric surgery are better options.
