03.11.2025 19:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's a terrific film, with a heroic "lead" and a masterfully portrayed bad guy. The one thing I can't understand, given the risks, the superb camerawork, and sense of story, is how on earth Pavel Talankin only gets a "co-director" and the senior credit is given to an American who mostly wasn't there

More evidence of Silicon Valley tech bros using their wealth to advance batshit ideas. Eg:
โThe Church embraced that great invention of the day [the printing press] to literally change humanity," which erases the Church's censorious Librorum Prohibitorum.

An awful lot of MSM obits are written well before the subject of them actually dies. The BBC for example has stacks of them on people who are still quite perky.

There's an old story from Stalin's day that when the Soviet Union set targets for rivet production they did it by weight. So steel foundries just made bigger, very useless rivets.
Smaller, meaner, more isolated housing could just be modern London developers' de-regulated dream of bigger rivets.
Haven't decided yet on who - between Nick Clegg and Paul McCartney - has contributed more to popular culture...

Oh good. That's a start. Given the death threats Bray and his family received, and the fact that he was trying to take his family to a safe haven in Europe, a higher profile over here wouldn't hurt.
