The Petrie Museum is devastated to learn of the sudden death of John J. Johnston, a long-term friend and collaborator of the Museum who was dedicated to the research of LGBTQ+ histories in ancient Egypt. We extend our deepest condolences to John’s family at this sad time.

One of the joys of working @uclhistory.bsky.social is that you have access to the extraordinary @uclpetriemuseum.bsky.social with one of the largest collections of Egyptian and Sudanese historic artefacts. I spotted some textiles which will, no doubt, form part of future investigations!
