Yes, it is something that was explained to me and falls into the can't unsee category. A good film often tells a story. A television show often simply has interesting characters and story lines. TV writers generally WANT to keep the story going.

I love being a part of the long history of dog/human relations. What a great story to be a part of!

It may happen that the miniseries want the thing to become a series and so the writers are not really wanting to close the story in the same way someone who is making a film might. They want to generate interest and set up storylines.

The writer of the review can understand the difference and who they are writing for. A review which can give a reader a fair concept for deciding to read is different then a discussion for readers who already read and are looking for discussion of the contents.
