forgot to post on Poetry Day! I was busy reading Rickey Laurentiis’s Death of the First Idea (a lush, shape-shifting meditation on what it costs—and gives—to remake a life)!

poems that reinvent the lyric to tell the truth of a trans, Black self—ferocious, vulnerable, and lit with New Orleans light.

Perverts by Kay Gabriel

A collective dream of queer desire and resistance, Perverts explores how private longing becomes shared consciousness amid rising anti-trans panic. Desire as politics, poetry as organizing.

IMO what matters is that it's yours. as a demographic we are still incredibly invisible, so more creative content = we are still here and we WILL be seen. but ofc it's always a personal experience and just being trans doesn't mean you owe the world your story either <3 just my two cents

Book cover. Yellow text reads: Emily Austin, Gay Girl Prayers, Poems. The word Prayers in the title is broken out into four lines, Gay | Girl | Pray | Ers. Which gives it a cool double meaning. The text covers a drawn black and gray image of a young nun gazing upwards. She faces to the right.

Finished in July: 📚 Gay Girl Prayers by Emily Austen; poetry. Austen reinterprets bible verses to affirm and uplift queer, feminist, and trans realities. My favorites are the Matthew 25 series. #QueerBooks #Poetry

A photo of a book titled Stonewall Tak Mampir di Atlantis. The letters are in rainbow colors against a simple white background. The author's name, Hendri Yulius Wijaya, is printed in black letters.

I had fun reading this Indonesian queer poetry book. I caught references of our pop culture, local figures, history, and news to express unique queer experiences. The poems mix Indonesian, little English, and "bahasa binan"; a lingo adopted by Indonesian trans community in the 1960s. 1/3 🧵 #Booksky

instantly transported me back to having to put on makeup and do my hair femme for my retail job at a clothing store. great writing, i especially like your use of repetition to build on the sense of laborious monotony that permeates the whole piece. can't wait to see what else you write 😊

Been on a mini-educational kick for my audiobook listening recently, and right now I'm listening through Invisible Women by Caroline Perez. As a feminist and lover of humanity, I was still caught lacking in knowledge on a lot of the minute ways women are excluded from thought in society.

Kalonymus ben Kalonymus was a 13th century Rabbi and philosopher. She was also a poetry prodigy, gaining renown in her 20’s. One of her poems seems to describe her gender dysphoria. In “Even Bohan,” she laments having been born a boy and longed to be a woman. She was likely a trans woman.

Regular reminder that I wrote a zine of poetry about my first year of transition. My hope is forever that trans people feel seen by it and perhaps find some comfort in my words, and cis people maybe understand us a little better.

A whimsical, magical designed text graphic on top of a pink and purple cloud background. The title says "Queerplatonic: A Beginner's Guide to QPRs"

a sneak peek at my next project 👀 a half-page zine & personal essay regarding queerplatonic relationships for the uninitiated. both anecdotal and educational, I thought what better way to celebrate pride month than to reflect on the personally most important part of my identity?

A zine cover titled THE T-SLUR TIMES ISSUE #2. The background is black and lacy with floral patterns, and in the center there's a black and white picture of a trans woman in profile. Her hair is partially braided and fluffy at the ends, she's wearing striking makeup and gold leaf on her neck. She's wearing a skeleton print tank top with a white leather studded jacket slung over one shoulder. A zine page with a jagged black lace border and doodles of stars. A picture of a woman in a low cut silver dress and black boots is in the lower right corner, and a drawing of a fairy is at the bottom of the page.

Text reads: are you in the mood to bitch abt the government

What can I say y'all? Shits fucked lately

It sucks watching friends move away from Austin to escape anti trans violence here in Texas. Like, we spend so much time building these connections with one another, y'know? These past few years have felt like building community, but watching us flee to other parts of the country really stings.

Worse yet, I'm having to grapple with the prospect of my partners splitting up in the same way, each to different cities and states with their respective polycules. Will that happen first, or will one of us fall victim to hate and be the next hashtag?

This is the shit we have to think about every day as we watch the fascism of the US bloom just like we warned folks it would over a decade ago. They abandoned all pretext a long time ago. We're just doing our best to survive it now I guess.

I hope you're able to stay safe with your loved ones.

-Robin A zine page with a jagged black border and pictures of various anime and game characters. One is a small child with dark hair wearing a bandana and starfish print shirt, another is an anime girl with poofy twintails and a black outfit with devil wings and a heart shaped cutout, and the third is an anime femme with makeup, blonde hair and a turtleneck.

Text: CHARACTERS THAT ARE TOTALLY TRANS (BECAUSE I SAY SO)

Koa (Summer in Mara) - a little trans girl who goes on an adventure beyond the island she was raised on. In the tutorial flashback she's shown looking more masc coded, and the game is full of queer characters like an old gay fishman couple, a he/him catgirl, a bisexual polyamorous blacksmith; hell, even your grandma's old friend talks about her like an old lost lover. Stands to reason that a transfemme main character wouldn't be strange at all in this setting~

Pop Step! (My Hero Academia Vigilantes) - a pink-haired wannabe idol whose secret identity is a pink haired highschooler, Pop is one of the illegal heroes in this spinoff series. She's revealed to be trans in the main character's backstory when he recounts saving a drowning boy on the way to an important test, and she leaves in a huff to sulk at home and say "that kid you saved that day was me... AND I'M NOT A BOY!"

Yuka (Blue Period) - canonically nonbinary transfemme, but I get the impression that she'll probably one day identify as a trans woman. It hits so hard when she says "Things would be so much easier if I was a woman" A zine page with a jagged black border and pictures of different characters: Dipper Pines from Gravity Falls, Hunter from Owl House, Legoshi from Beastars, and Tadano and Yamai from Komi Can't Communicate

Text: Dipper Pines (Gravity Falls) -
Pure headcanon based on vibes and fan art. Mabel would be so supportive too!

Hunter (Owl House) - Again, pure vibes. I just love seeing awkward tryhard boys learn the world isn't strict and bloom into self confident women, what can I say?

Legoshi (Beastars) - This "boy" is so stuck in his head all the time and is obsessed with the differences between himself and others, there's no way this *wouldn't* happen irl. I can't wait for her egg to crack in the longest inner monologue her friends have ever had the misfortune of witnessing.

Tadano (Komi Can't Communicate) - another hyper observant 'guy' who manages to end up in situations. I had my thoughts about him before the season 1 finale and after that I was convinced. Pink hair really looks good on her~

Yamai (Komi Can't Communicate) - This might have been accidental but this girl is too obsessed with making Komi simulate sucking her dick to not have some gender going on.

Took me all month, but here's the next issue of The T-Slur Times! This one is a lot bigger than the previous one so it'll take me a bit to post it all, so y'all get to savor it lol~

This issue deals with the pains of leaving, avenging our dead, the joy of queer community, and other trans shit~

Hi bsky I'm a trans poc writer who's going to share some updates of a poetry book I've been writing casually over the course of ten years now. Its charm is that it's a time capsule of my mental health, identity, and recovery journey from teenagehood to mid adult <3

The cover of the poetry zine, showing the title and author's name in Blue and white chalk on a cracked aged concrete. The title is 'Big Doom Profit' by Fen M. Taylor. The first page of a poem, as follows:

Title: The Culling, written in January 2022.

Long has it been
the whims of the great white worm
  employing exclusions
to control the existence of you.

We exist at the whims of the government
A number in their system
that if deleted becomes
a cyclical trap of disillusionment.
For who can prove you exist
if no one knows you do?

When police are given powers
  over every aspect
guarding the whims
	of the great white worm.
The public no longer for public
  instead a brutalized canvas
  for the rich to view
  as they pass through
  where we live and work.

It is a play well known to human history
  a rise of intolerance tolerated
  and co-opted language
creating cults of thought and body
Ivermectin hydroquloriqine
the holy falsehoods of their god
  	the great white worm.

When disagreement with the government
The second page of the poem, The Culling (continued)

  becomes a crime to do
	to think
  convinced that safety
is the number that they have on you.

Be ready for when they
  revoke status
Your government will not protect you
  only the sick will die
  only the ill grow sick
  only the enemy is ill
Our enemies are not welcome
  too queer too black
  too native too brown
  too trans too different
Fill the checkbox with all
  those they have deemed ill.

When you are the enemy
there is no wrong too great
  to deal with our deviance
  the gall to question
  to wish for something better.

Before there is hope
  death will be our gift
  the pestilence ushered in
  by the attendants of the
	great white worm
Yet more will come
  when we are revoked
  our bodies broken
  our homes destroyed
Many more will look away
to keep calm and carry on The third page of the poem, The Culling (continued)

rather than speak up against the wrongs
  or reach out for their
	fellow human.

We could escape the fire together
  if you’d admit it
	we’re burning
	we’re all burning together
Status revoked.

Coming out later this summer, my anti-capitalist/antifa poetry zine 'Big Doom Profit', collectively written as a group of 'prophecies' about the future. Sent it to print today :>

Here's one of my favourites from it, 'The Culling'. #poetry
