I read it a long time ago & remember being blown away by some of the conceptually fascinating worldbuilding kibble. But I also noted a vibe of cruelty throughout that at the time I attributed to it being horror-adjacent, rather than author leakage.

Counterintuitively, I was trying to deal w/ a terrarium leaking water. I unplugged all the lamps from my power strip, set them down on the floor, then got distracted by dog shenanigans. Returned to discover one of the heat lamps was plugged into a different outlet, and melted a hole in my rug.

FYI that I removed the post about Big Y as being based on misleading information--the article was marked by google as being from 2025, but the actual date on it was 2016.
So, yeah, I usually vet things better, but I saw the 2025 and that seemed sufficient cause for upset.
