And incompetent English goverments failing to protect it's citizens from criminals arriving in boats. Fortunately the Scandanavians have cleaned up there act since then, even if UK governance still leaves a lot to be desired.

It seems that routine decisions being contaminated by political expediency dates back to the foundation of the English state. I'm waiting for the document describing Malmesbury residents rioting against Strathclyde refugees sheltering in the abbey.

New hope for the Wood White in Wales! 🎉

One of the rarest butterflies in the UK appears to be recolonising Wales decades after the last population died out.

It has been recorded at four sites in Powys this summer - including a female laying eggs.

We were sat quietly doing a Big Butterfly Count this morning, when a Silver-washed Fritillary flew in to the same flower head as a nectaring Comma. Both of these butterflies are orange coloured with black markings across their wings. The Comma has shaggy-looking wings. Both insects are perched on the purple flower head of a Buddleia What happened next was dramatic as the following two videos will show.
