Autumn Leaves 2025
You know what this time of year is all about. Pictures taken in Heaton Park, as always.
Sunset Over Castlefield
What the title says. The ever present pigeons look like statues here. Pictures taken on the same day as the ones from the previous post, October In The City. Days are getting shorter!
October In TheΒ City
I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers and I'm also glad that I live in Manchester, so here I share with you both, in photography. Castlefield: Asters by the canal in Castlefield. Leaves arranged by me on a stone bench in Castlefield. St Ann's Square: Leaves inβ¦
Colosseum, Rome
You know this one, so let me go straight to the pics. I walked around the Colosseum and took a picture every few steps, so picking the photographs for the blog was a challenge. (I'm seriously getting tired of myself for taking so many pictures. I go away for a few days and returnβ¦
Dimples Lane, Haworth
One of my favourite things to take pictures of--usually with a smartphone--are signs. This includes street signs, if the name of the street is funny or unusual. Dimples Lane might not be striking to many people--but it is to me. The name evokes a certain favourite guy ofβ¦
Trevi Fountain, Rome
Trevi Fountain is a fountain in the Trevi district of Rome. It's baroque in style and very famous. That's about it. People toss coins into the fountain and make a wish. Apparently, the amount thrown into the fountain daily is estimated to be 3000 euros. This money is used forβ¦
Roman Holiday
I went on a five day city break to Rome and, having returned with 400+ photographs, I find myself in my typical too many pics, don't know what to post situation. While I'm making a decision on future posts, here's this: I visited the usual landmarks; Colosseum, Trevi Fountain,β¦
Perfect Alignment
When it all aligns. Photo taken in Heaton Park.
Happy 10th Blogoversary!
It's been a decade since I published my very first post, Hello Universe. I can't believe I've lasted this long! I think there are a few things that would surprise the 2015 me about the 2025 me. In a good way. The photo is that of a rose growing in Manchester Cathedralβ¦
End Of Summer
Summer is coming to an end and here are some pictures from Heaton Park, my favourite place, taken at the end of August.
My Chaotic And Wonderful Trip ToΒ Edinburgh
It all only happened because of the person I like blogging about the most--Sam Claflin. Sam just had a very long dry season, not so much because he was not working--if that was the reason, I would not have minded, he deserves his rest--but because theβ¦
The Beatles Statue,Β Liverpool
What the title says. The statue is the work of the sculptor Andrew Edwards and was unveiled on the Liverpool Waterfront in 2015, so it's relatively new. When I visited the city on Saturday, there was a queue of people waiting their turn to take a picture with the Fabβ¦
Manchester Cathedral
It's finally making an appearance on Some Photoblog! Manchester Cathedral is a Grade I listed building in gothic revival style. It's the seat of the Bishop of Manchester and the city's parish church, of Church of England denomination. I'm not religious so I cannot tell youβ¦
Oasis Mania InΒ Manchester
If you live in Manchester--and even if you don't--you will know that the long awaited Oasis reunion tour is now in this city, their home ground, where the band is playing five shows in Heaton Park (my favourite place, as it happens). I have never listened to themβ¦
Lazy Cat
Pepper doesn't understand what I find amusing about her position. "Can't you see how hard have I been working, human, doesn't a cat deserve some rest?"
Colourful Flowers
A collection of flowers that I captured this late spring and early summer at various places. The top photo and the bottom two photos were taken with my Canon, the rest with my Pixel.
