Feel free to try it out yourself! Lots of artists paint on fabric so I don't own the idea. As for the method I simply glued this fabric to thick paper and used clear gesso on top.
The fabric tends to absorb the paint a bit so it might take a few more layers if you wanna skip the gesso.

I thought these two designs in particular were really pretty so I gessoed them and painted Mr Dinosir and Opal.
