"In that case. I'm John, and you are...?" Simon debated keeping his name to himself, but... what did he care anymore? He'd been out of the military for more than five years, and likely these two had never heard of him. Perhaps they'd been around to see his skull-mask-wearing alter ego, who'd stayed in just long enough to finish out his contract and get an honorable discharge, but they wouldn't know his name. He reached over and shook MacTavish's hand. "Simon Riley. I worked with... Price... for..." Simon trailed off as MacTavish's eyes widened. "Wait... Riley? Really?" Garrick leaned in, his eyes just as wide, and whispered, "Ghost? You're the Ghost?" "Christ," Simon said with a huff of shocked laughter, his heart jumping to his throat. "What has Price been tellin' you all? And don't call me by that name. I left it behind for a reason."

Simon's heart leaps into his throat. He puts the vacuum away and goes to answer the door. Johnny stands there, the perfect picture of concern and beauty and Simon wants to smile, but he can't. "Come on then," he says as he pushes the door wider. Johnny smiles, but it doesn't show his teeth, there's some sort of tension in the air. One that Simon doesn't quite understand. He follows Johnny into his own apartment, easily taking his hand when offered. Johnny turns around as they walk into the living room and takes Simon's other hand. He stops walking just short of the couch. There Johnny wraps his arms around his waist and pulls him into a tight hug. Shocked Simon goes stiff. "What are you doing?" "Hugging ye." "Why?" "Because ye need it."

Simon sighs as he relaxes around Johnny. The warmth of his touch infuses Simon's chest, easing the ache he isn't ready to acknowledge. He runs his hands slowly down Johnny's back, down to his waist. He wraps his hands around him pulls him closer. "I'm fine," Simon says, pressing his cheek to the side of Johnny's head, breathing him in. Immediately, Johnny stiffens and pulls away. He glares up at Simon with blazing blue eyes. "Ye promised." Anxiety floods Simon as his boyfriend steps out of his arms. "What?" "Ye promised ye wouldnae lie tae mae." "I'm not. I'm fine." "Yer nae." "I am," Simon insists, but his argument shatters when Johnny steps forward and wipes a tear from Simon's cheek.

Butcher AU Ghoap will always be near and dear to me, always. Something about war-torn Simon who finds comfort in the relatively grotesque art that is butchering, alongside John who, maybe, owns a cafe down the road, or something social given his personality. It just speaks and screams at meeeeee

Okay but Soap working at the flower shop and every time he goes outside to arrange the plants or to water them, Ghost gets an eyeful from inside his shop and gets distracted. And they start talking during smoke breaks in front of their shops. Also at opening time bc Soap starts saying hello first 👀
