Probably easiest to start with: Centrist Dad, then head to Car Nerd (or Bore, if he's left to it) and finally Posts about my industry (although I'd rather keep my specific profession out of things) Mainly skeets/ bleets about politics and cars though.

You weren't in the minority.

Oh, which reminds me on the subject of shows which should be watched, @sturdyalex.bsky.social if you haven't seen every single episode ever made, ensure you watch all of Columbo except those with Patrick McGoohan in, because he ruined it any time he was on screen.

The section with Terminus and where Rick told Gareth how he was going to kill him, was amazing.

The Red Machete Diary (I think it was called) was also brilliant, as was the YouTube Bicycle Girl and Rick Hospital online shorts.

(I *quite like* zombie content...)

Personally I couldn't manage Z Nation as it was too nod and a wink zombie, rather than "shit got real" zombie.

The final serieseses where Angela Kang took over from Scott Gimple, were up there with the best of them, or maybe better.

July 2022 Ant was livid as he locked in his mortgage for 7 years, having to pay Β£150/month more for the same thing.

Little did he know that if he thought that was bad news, things would get worse when the surprise US trip for his wife's 40th went ahead in late September after Truss' mini-budget...

I can’t remember which season of The Walking Dead it was, possibly 8, but it was almost entirely filler.

All of the negativity is very much in the vein of β€œchildren need to be taught to hate”.
If this doesn’t occur, all you see is two happy people in a loving relationship.

I remember seeing something on a programme like Windmill with Chris Searle about how men could get married in Holland and thought β€œcool, you can marry your best friend.”.
This was pre-secondary school in the 90s, so the next commentary on same-sex relationships was the casual homophobia πŸ˜”

Slightly older show, and I lost interest at the amnesia storyline, but have you both seen Miami Vice?

The history of the Bren (as with a number of other firearms of the mid-20th century) is a fascinating blend of talents and sharing from clever people in Europe working with us Brits, with BrEn actually being a portmanteau in exactly that fashion.
Europe, eh? What have they ever done for us…? πŸ˜‰

Austria is lovely. Before we had kids (although technically we had a 13 month old with us, but that’s not the same) my wife and I did the locations in and around Salzburg where The Sound of Music was filmed.

Have a wonderful time!

In fact, sniping with one in the film would probably make the Broadsword Radio category…

Can I suggest either Jonathan Ferguson or Ian McCollum’s piece on the Bren, where it’s suggested the accuracy thing isn’t backed up by actual data, only anecdote. I also believe this film is mentioned.
The Bren fires from an open bolt, so is unlikely to be more accurate than a regular rifle.

I’m not an economist, but I reckon the rocketing gas price might increase the cost of eggs.

It’s almost like Trump voters had no idea… πŸ€”

The envious location I have in life is that I see all of this stuff come and go, with this being my typical opinion as I see it cresting the horizon and coming towards me:

The idea the North Sea is some great goldmine waiting to be tapped is entirely at odds with reality.

Fran Lebowitz: 'You do not know anyone as stupid as Donald Trump' She loves to talk, hates to fly and wants to make it clear she takes no responsibility for the state of US politics

Here you go, I found the quote about Trump's danger coming from how stupid he is, seeing as you provided a worked example:

As you grow older, the acting talent that comes along either makes an impression, or it's TimothΓ©e Chalamet.

I don’t like Will Self, but his line of β€œnot all Brexit voters were racists, but all racists voted for Brexit” was spot on.

(Just to clarify, I don't mean that plastic surgery is good. How much smoke Rolling Coal trucks put out is stunning, but I simultaneously think it's awful)

Good plastic surgery is pretty stunning.

Brad Pitt is in his 60s.

I'd like to look like that in my 60s, but I won't.

My most* fun fact: Brad Pitt is older than Nigel Farage.

*yeah, none of them are that fun.
