CAWR's Leonardo Faedo has received an award & seed funding (€ 2000) from FIAMO to host 2 workshops, in Groningen, Netherlands & Bucharest, Romania. As part of the Subtle Agroecologies research, they will focus on the use of homeopathic & biodynamic preparations in agriculture.

CAWR Researchers Katharina Dehnen-Schmutz, Helen Bayliss & Alex Lowther-Harris attended the OneSTOP Project Annual Meeting in Almería, Spain, 19th-22nd Jan. There were productive break-out sessions, a field trip looking at invasive & endemic species & opportunities for informal exchange.

In December Barbara Smith & Ffion Thomas headed to Edinburgh for the British Ecological Society Annual Conference. Barbara gave a presentation on the need for collaboration between arts & science for ecological restoration & Ffion presented a poster on ash dieback disease based on her PhD research.

At the ORFC Claire Lyons & Charlotte Southall organised the 1st ever session on viticulture 'Resilient Vineyards: Practice, Viability, Market Strategy' chaired by Claire, exploring how vineyards can remain viable while working with organic, biodynamic & regenerative low input systems.

Leo Faedo & Charlotte Southall, joined Lawrence Woodward OBE & Innovative Farmer Pat Aherne in the ORFC panel - How Homeopathy Can Improve Health & Resilience in Agriculture. With a focus on agroecosystem health & the management of the agricultural organism with the use of homeopathic preparations.

At the ORFC Chiara Tornaghi and team ran a session titled "Cooking up justice and joy in the Landed Community Kitchen", an emerging novel infrastructure for food system transformation, that brings together local agroecological producers & food sovereignty-oriented kitchens.

CAWR were active across a range of sessions at the ORFC, 8-9 Jan 2026. They also had an exhibition stand where they shared details of the recently launched SCALE-it & WINN ORGANIC projects. On the Fri, Julia Wright chaired a session on Subtle Technologies for Agroecological Farms of the Future.

Alex Franklin, Katharina Dehnen-Schmutz and James Bennett attended #IPBES12's Stakeholder Day and the opening of the Plenary in Manchester this week, where they showcased DAISY_HorizonEurope and OneSTOP projects. The IPBES 12th Plenary focuses on Business and Biodiversity.

In Dec CAWR's Liliane Binego, Sue Charlesworth & Jana Fried (PI) visited Dr Kirsty Carden & team at the Future Water Research Institute at the University of Cape Town as part of their British Academy funded ISPoSA project. The visit enabled preparations for fieldwork in March.
