I talked about the research I conducted with @mtkopon.bsky.social for minority languages and value scenarios (forthcoming paper), re-imagining community-driven MT uses for minority languages in Europe, focused on Catalan and Karelian.

Bojana Mikelenic talked about her recent research with Antoni Oliver developing the RomCro corpus (lnkd.in/dCKSkYcV) to add Catalan and its use to fine-tune MT engines for literary texts.

On Friday, I went to Donostia with Antoni Oliver and Bojana Mikelenic invited by German Rigau and @eagirre.bsky.social @hitz-zentroa.bsky.social to conduct a seminar on MT. It was an intense and wonderful experience.
