Thanks:') I'd say the best part is honestly my agents, they make the process so much easier than a lot of others I've heard of; they're great at their jobs, very communicative, transparent with their sub lists and strategies and I couldn't ask for a better agent to guide me through sub!

Oh absolutely not! I've gotten so far, there's no way I'm quitting now:) I'm in this and I have to have faith I will come out successful

I try to tell myself, I made it this far, y'know? Experienced agents are repping me, a highly successful editor loved/wanted my book, it didn't pass acquisitions but it was so close, i was a finalist for a big grant but it's just. hard to focus on the positives with these near misses/not full wins

finding it hard to encourage myself to keep writing Book #2 when Book #1 is gasping its last breaths before officially dying on sub 😅 i know it's the only choice, but i'm plagued with thoughts of my writing and art not being good enough and it suuuucks #amwriting #writingcommunity #authors

I published my first novel at 38. Working on 28th at 76 years old

This week I wrote a Three Act Structure for Book #2, figuring out the general start to finish plot! I also started sketching some characters & told my agents about the new project, who are so excited! A sketchbook page is open on a diary entry from Feb 27th, 2025. It says: Power went out today for two hours But at least I spent it with Mariaco (pink heart) shthey're staying over and it's so fun! We're drinking tea and drawing together! These feel tangible based on how things are going, unlike the other ones I dream about, like, "bestselling" or "award winning" 🥹

I think in the end, supporting these companies it’s a little like with eating animal produce. Every bit you can cut out of your life helps if a lot of us do it. It’s not necessarily a 0 or 100 thing.

I think it's important that they coexist for the benefit of our writing but yeah I also find it difficult to make time to read when I am actively working on getting a project done, I tend to do it more in between and less frequently during my writing periods
