Went up the road to the Stanley Hotel to take the new Shining tour. They renovated the caretaker's cottage to look like Kubrick's movie.

The rebels have liberated hundreds of women, toddlers and babies held in Sednaya prison.

They've also released hundred of prisoners some of which were tortured to the point of forgetting their own identity, others held for decades for speaking out against the regime. #freeSyria

A couple of high school students contacted me for help with a fire management project they're working on. Do I have time to help these girls? No. Am I going to help them anyway? Of course!

It's a beautiful day in the Rocky Mountains. Loving life at 9000 feet above sea level. Expecting snow for the rest of the week.

How far up in the mountains do we live? Our house seems to be too much for delivery folks. First we got a Walmart package "delivered" in the middle of the woods, 1/4 mile from our house. Today, we got a package from Target "delivered" in this local monument to a moose (about a mile from our house)

One annoying thing about historical research is looking up how long it took to get from A to B in the US by train in 1880 and then looking it up now and realizing it was faster in 1880.

In the coming years, we should be cognizant that we are all going to be primary sources for historic changes. Keep a journal or other record of events. BUT!Be sure to save it to an external drive that doesn’t sync to the cloud.

Don’t let the victors be the only ones writing history.
