Art at its core has an incredible capacity to look inward into all kinds of contradictory and unpleasant parts of our minds and our souls and while each artist's perspective on that journey is informed by political circumstance, that doesn't make all art propaganda in alignment of our beliefs.

Like I get it, I'm guilty of this, I love responding to fascist idiots by pointing out that their conservative utopia vision of Final Fantasy 7 is categorically wrong according to my interpretation of it, but like, art was never meant to be an echoing of political identity.

I think the response to "we need to make conservative propaganda out of all media to own the libs" being "actually all the best media is progressive and shares our values" has turned us all into monsters.

I'm gonna be real I think one of the worst things to come out of turning everything into a culture war is that broadly speaking, no one on social media has a healthy relationship with art and art analysis anymore.
