vibrant meadow with various wildflowers in bloom. The foreground features a Common Spotted Orchid, surrounded by green grass and yellow flowers. In the background, there are more purple flowers on long stems against a clear blue sky with a few wispy clouds.
The image shows a close-up view of a meadow with various wildflowers and grasses. A burnet moth is perched on a rough hawkbit flower. The background features more wildflowers and grasses, with trees visible in the distance under a partly cloudy sky.
The image shows a field of meadow buttercup in bloom. The flowers are small, with delicate petals and are densely packed, creating a vibrant yellow sea. The background is blurred, emphasising the foreground flowers.

Some conclusions from this dismal episode:
* heritage trees need listing & strong legal protection
* a sense of nature/the living world as disposable, even laughable, runs deep
* βFar from being the big men they thought they wereβ¦they were rather pathetic.β
