Summer mentoring is also funded at the DPD Prep Summer Academy.

The DPSF also has brother & sisterhood programs in 8 Detroit Public Schools. They also help prepare youth for law enforcement careers across Detroit with their DPD Explorers program.

The DPSF support DPD programs among all precincts and community engagement initiatives.

The DPSF collaborates with DPD & DFD on community events year-round. They have 2 civillian awards, but focus on awarding outstanding DPD & DFD members.

Now, the Detroit Public Safety Foundation Presentation. This foundation has been established since 1911.

Rasheeda is next to the stand. She is telling her story about her experience with the 8th precinct and how she was hung up on regarding her case. She is trying to understand why her case was closed by an officer when CPS said DPD was to handle it.
