The Cape Verde Giant Skink is a peculiar species. From Cape Verde, obviously, this lizard is a herbivore and enjoys foraging in the tall shrubs and small trees it sometimes climbs.

They are just one of the species we're working to rewild back to it's natural range.

The mother and calf Odobenocetops peruvianus.

At Genesis Resorts, a new pair of marine mammals are settling in, Odobenocetops peruvianus! The mother and calf are doing well in their new home.

This bizarre creature is often mistaken by guests and internet-goers as a sort of tusked manatee, but it's actually a strange species of toothed whale!

On the coast of Ushagat Island, Alaska, lies a lovely little park, The Archaic Sanctuary, which has one of the longest-necked plesiosaurs, Albertonectes!

This impressive reptile lived in an ancient seaway which is now Canada, and is one of the many elasmosaurs known to have swallowed gastroliths!

Measuring at nearly 17 meters in length, the planktivorous giant Leedsichthys is one of the most expensive creatures a paleoaquarium can house.

The facility attempting the feat of its housing? Vancouver Phanerozoic Aquariums, one of the most highly-regarded paleoaquariums in the world. Magnificent!

The facility's Carcharodon hubbelli feeding on a (humanely euthanized) nuisance sea lion, sent in from California.

Thanks to a deal with the state of California, the Resurrected Reefs Foundation of French Polynesia has the ability to keep their Carcharodon hubbelli fed with nusiance sea lions, keeping the shark healthy in its distant seapen!

A difficult task, as white sharks don't always do well in captivity.

Happy New Year from all of us here at EPBU!

2025 sure was interesting, we grew a lot over the year, and we're very excited to continue growing with the launch of our YouTube channel scheduled for later this year! Stay tuned for more, and here's to another year of paleo-themed greatness!

Little festive doodle by LuzimBR.

For the holiday season, various participating park managers across the world are getting together for this year's White Mastodon Gift Exchange!

In this festivity, parks choose to send a copy of a species' genome they own into a pool of the others, then the participant parks get a new random one!

Kira the young Acrocanthosaurus.

Sorry for the hiatus, we're all very busy here at EPBU, but to make up for it, here's a short post!

The young 'queen' of the Primordial Gardens, Kira the Acrocanthosaurus is one of the most popular species held at this park, and is growing fast. These days, she's learned to hunt rats, how exciting!

Another cunning and crafty species, the Dromaeosaurus of Alberta Prehistoric Valley have been known escape artists, though they're less aggressive than their larger relatives.

As such, their enclosure's fence is topped with rounded panels that they can't get a good grip on.

At Managed Prehistory, new arrivals stir trouble, like Vixen, the devious Achillobator!

She's formed a bad reputation for trying to attack people, even in her youth, and nobody's quite sure why.

Chada, the Velociraptor being fed by her primary keeper, Dodson.

G&K Paleozoological Sanctuary is known primarily for being the most well-funded park registered to the EPBU, but is also well-known for its status as a rescue facility.

Chada, the Velociraptor, was originally left in an abandoned home, and has now made G&K his permanent home.

A park zookeeper administering Ben the Stephanorhinus his medication.

Ben, The Ranch's Stephanorhinus hemitoechus, unfortunately has diabetes. Ben is a rather old individual, so he'll need an insulin injection every day for the rest of his life. Thankfully, he doesn't seem to be slowing down!

A head close-up of the Ferrisaurus.

The Ferrisaurus of San Diego Paleontological Park have previously been kept separately from Gremlin, their relatives, but are slowly being introduced. The female Ferrisaurus are still unusually aggressive to their cousins, though the male is perfectly tolerant.

A visitor watching a Titanichthys swimming by the tank's viewing wall.

In the fully indoor facility of ICT Paleodome, Annie the Titanichthys slowly swims in her massive tank - the largest in the facility!

This facility has fallen somewhat quiet on social media in recent years, but has one of the most diverse rosters of animals in such a small space.

A bell can be faintly heard at the paleozoo of the Draper Museum of Natural History, it's feeding time for the baby Ceratosaurus!

The facility is mainly known for its research on the genome of Deinonychus, but they've got plenty more to see than just the raptors!

Styxosaurus individual named "Bubbles" blowing out some bubbles in front of a pair of guests, watching from behind the thick glass.

The marine facility of Paleoparque de Lisboa is slowly expanding, the largest animal of this developing section being Styxosaurus!

Her name is Bubbles, after her tendency to exhale small bubbles in front of the glass near guests. Nobody knows why she does this, but it sure is cute!

The Zuchengtyrannus pair of Lower Rhine Archaic Islands - a European member park of EPBU - have outgrown their old toys, so have been given some fun new ones!

Pictured below is one playing with a new enrichment item: a makeshift hadrosaur, made of various recyclables.
