If i compare to galgames, it feels like men only play for the cute girls, eather than shipping the mc with them

Could be! I always found this difference interesting. I think though it has more to do with men finding typical ikemen repulsive, cuz in romcoms they might feel like an intruder between the mc and his prefered heroine/harem.
The usual demographic for those are also wary of ntr lol

Ugly villagers have their own charm i think. Acnl was my first game and I had limburg and greta in my town. Limburg always felt like an uncle to me...
