imo the obama presidency put that idea to bed. what has incrementalism won us? the liberalism of the past 50 years has been a slow death for income equality—and even smart, basically "good" technocrats can't/won't fix it.

i was really forcefully disappointed when trudeau beat harper in his first election (he won a minority). my friends were like "wtf" at me. but those were bernie kinda days, and i felt v strongly that the appetite of major change in canada required the boiling-over of another Harper term.
