I have been told of just how goddamn mean nitric can be. It may not *technically* be a strong acid, but it's damn close *and* a potent oxidizer. Apparently it can do the most wonderful things to your skin's ability to withstand direct sunlight.

This is speculation here, but nitrogen dioxide is orange. Nitrate, at high concentrations, doesn't especially love to *stay* as nitrate, so it will decompose into nitrogen oxides. That orange might just be nitrogen dioxide. Don't take that as gospel, though. I am speculating.

My advice is to make sure and not get molten sugar on your skin. Or molten napalm... anywhere. In fact, try to avoid handling napalm in any capacity. It keeps the Feds off your ass.

Your skin is a lot more stable than sugar, so it's not so... dramatic. Thoroughly rinsing it off in a timely manner will keep it to a fairly mild chemical burn if it's like, a drop. I wouldn't recommend treating it that casually, however. A lot on you is *much* worse.

It depends on the plastic. The acid has to have an avenue of attack on the bonds, as well as the bonds being easily enough broken. Sugars are *really* easy to break down.

There are people who are utterly sincere saying utterly batshit stuff, and it can be hard to pick up on when it's a bit or not.

Penn has publicly stated that the libertarian response to covid really made him question the entire ideology. Teller, to my knowledge, hasn't commented at all. Bullshit was very overtly influenced by their opinions, and they admitted it outright.

I mask at work (and the store, and the assisted living center when I visit my MiL, etc.), and have since Covid. My dick has yet to fall off, so I dunno why people are so damned worried about wearing a damn mask.
