Blank Presidential Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Spencer specialize in philosophy of science, philosophy of biology, and philosophy of race, including metaphysical problems in race theory, such as whether any folk racial classification divides people into real biological groups. The STS network at Temple University is a diverse group of faculty, staff, and graduate students with interests in the social, historical, and philosophical dimensions of science, technology, and medicine. On Thursday February 13 at 7pm, West Chester University will host a discussion with interdisciplinary scholar of race and ethnic studies Scott Kurashige. Topics will include the philosophies of James and Grace Lee Boggs as well as the history and philosophies of Asian-American political organizing throughout the Twentieth and Twenty-first centuries. The colloquium will be held in Sykes Theater on the WCU campus and is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the WCU Philosophy Department, Political Science Department, Honors College, Institute of Race and Ethnic Studies, and the GPPC. On April 26, 2025 Temple University will host the Annual GPPC Undergraduate Conference featuring Peter Baumann (Swarthmore) as the keynote speaker. Undergraduates are invited to submit papers between 2,000-2,500 words on any topic of philosophical interest. The deadline for paper submission is February 7, 2025. Notices of acceptance will be sent by March 7, 2025. Papers should be prepared as a PDF document to be reviewed anonymously. Please include a cover page with your name, university affiliation, and the paper title. Do not include any identifying information in the body of your paper, except for the title. Interesting upcoming philosophy event at U of Delaware. 16 April

On April 26-27 the University of Delaware will be hosting the 34th annual GPPC Undergraduate Conference, featuring talks by students from Bryn Mawr, Bucknell, Franklin & Marshall, Haverford, Penn, St. Joseph's, Swarthmore, Temple, West Chester, and Delaware. There will be a single session on Friday, April 26, 3pm-6:30pm in Gore Hall 104 with a reception in the rotunda afterwards. There will be parallel sessions in Gore 104 and 116 on Saturday April 27 10am-4pm. Tim Maudlin (NYU) will deliver a keynote, "The Great Rift in Physics: Tension Between Relativity and Quantum Theory," on Saturday afternoon at 4pm in Gore 104.
