Enough of this “but we don’t have enough housing” bullshit. BUILD SOME. Many of the trans ppl coming in will be skilled workers! I know one who’s a professional welder!!! FIGURE IT OUT!!! We don’t have time for this.

Btw, Canada in particular. You should be ASHAMED of your government. You should be kicking down the doors of your local law office and DEMANDING they stop sending American migrants back at the border. We WILL need to get out or we WILL die. Your country is either a lifeline or a death sentence.

Unless places like Canada and the EU start to recognize that this IS the start of a genocide and get the fuck off their asses about it.

And now it’s happening. The designation of us as illegal, invalid citizens has started in full. Honestly it started long ago. Once they have us in prisons, once they have all our valid IDs, then the next phase will begin.

Unless cis people start to care, start to help us

The loss I feel cannot be quantified. Cannot be processed.

We yelled about this. We screamed until our lungs were bloody. We begged and pleaded for cis people to listen. And some did. But most turned away. We were too small a minority. We were overreacting. Hysterical trans people.

How would you feel if you could never see your home town again? If you were permanently cut off from the place that was once your home? If indulging in your heritage meant jail time and possibly death?

When the park needed renovations, my parents donated and that’s how I got a little brick with my old name carved into it in my favorite park.

Now I can never go back to my home state. If I have kids I can’t show them the place where I was born. I can’t take them on a ride in the train cars.

I guess I’m not done talking about this.

I’m gonna get a little personal.

I was born in Kansas. I went to a park every day as a toddler. It had a little train that went around in a circle and a bunch of animal sculptures you could climb on and crawl inside.

You should care about this because trans people are PEOPLE. We live our lives. We pose no threat to anyone.

Don’t fool yourselves. The assholes doing this don’t want to invalidate our driver’s licenses and keep us out of bathrooms and sports….

Reminder 2. In general trans ppl in the US are not uneducated or “low-skill” (if that’s even a thing). Trans ppl tend to be educated and are highly represented in fields like medicine, communications, and tech. The fleeing of trans Americans is a brain drain that will hurt the economy.

Reminder that any attack on the rights of trans people is an attack on ALL OF OUR right to defy gender expectations.

It’s very telling that for the most part, bathroom police don’t catch trans ppl. They catch cis men who look a little too fem and cis women who look a bit too masc to their eyes.
