The Cathedralβs Canon Treasurer, the Revd Baron, said "It was important that we reburied the infant at the same site with the dignity of a burial service that was likely not possible originally. We are conscious that someone went to great lengths to try to bury this baby on consecrated ground"

ASE's Michael Shapland, who led the excavations as the Cathedral Archaeologist, said "This is an extremely rare glimpse into the monastery that existed on this site during the Late Saxon period. This tiny baby is perhaps the oldest and the very youngest known member of the Cathedral community"

Spending time listening and connecting in both the original (Seaford) and current (Lewes) hut locations was central to the project's focus of deep listening.
Edwina Livesey from the Green Huts project shared stories of the soldiers stationed nearby and would have used the Green Huts as a chapel.

The Green Huts started as a WW1 chapel in Seaford before migrating to Lewes. They are reaching the end of their colourful lives.
Using microphones and imagination, local young artists have been deepening to their connection to history and the experiences of people who used the huts.

'Mammoth' project to catalogue Ice Age animal bones begins in Jersey
Archaeologists from Archaeology South-East and the UCL Institute of Archaeology are helping Jersey Heritage catalogue and carefully store hundreds of pieces of Ice Age animal bone.
